What is a scissor lift?

A scissor lift is just one type of aerial work platform that allows individuals to access higher reach areas within the safety of the platform. With a motorized engine & control panel located on the platform, these lifts make it easier to operate alone and address out-of-reach maintenance areas. What makes this lift unique compared to others, is that it can only move vertically.

What is a scissor lift typically used for?

Scissor lifts are designed to provide a safe and steady enclosure with a rising platform that helps workers reach elevated work territories. Typical scissor lifts range anywhere from 20 to 50 feet, depending on the particular model of the lift.

What’s the difference between a diesel and electric scissor lift?

Consumers often depict which type of lift they want based off of the fuel intake. Electric scissor lifts tend to have smaller tires and can be charged through an outside compatible power source. These are commonly used on ground level surfaces, staying away from brush and rough terrain. On the other hand, diesel scissor lifts have bigger tires with more durable hydraulics to encounter uneven surfaces. These models tend to contain stabilizers and are presumed to be less fuel efficient.
